Adjusting

Well we have been home 1 month and are adjusting.   Joshua is doing really well, he loves the girls and loves playing around the house.  He and Shaun play together some but have not bonded that well yet.  They tend to fight over toys and seem to always want what the other one has, typical of most 2 and 4 year old brothers!

Shaun is having more trouble adjusting than Josh.  Shaun is not the youngest any more, he is having to share his room and toys so major adjustments for him.  We keep trying to get Shaun to be the big brother and show Josh the ropes.   They will be fine, it is just a time of adjustment.

Joshua has began medical visits and testing.  So far everything is looking good and he is a great candidate for a bone anchored hearing aid.  We meet our audiologist this week and get a CT so we can see what is going on with his ears.  We are also waiting on results from other tests.  We are thankful for the good results and pray for good results of the remaining tests.

We are all getting into our routines and creating the new normal.   We have found that Joshua is a very picky eater.  He makes it very clear what he likes and does not like.  If there is not something he likes at a meal he will just push it away and sit there.  He can be very strong willed.   

He is hearing more than we expected, he is saying some English words including, Mom and Dad and he does pretty good at Joshua.   He loves music and will try to sing along and loves to shake a tambourine.  At church he loves the song service and raises his hands and sways with the music. 

All in all for the 1 month point we are doing as well as could be expected and will take each little step of progress.
