Shaun went to bed around 8 last night and we had to wake him
up this morning,. He slept great, I did hear him singing around 5 am but he
went right back to sleep. He had a great
breakfast and then was able to Skype with all of his siblings. Then we were off to the registration office
to make if official that he is ours.
That went fine and then we had to go get a bunch of papers notarized. Very
interesting that the put this office on the 6th floor of a building that
has no elevators so we all carried children up to the office to complete the
paperwork. Our wallets are a little lighter
now but that is the bulk of expenses for this week.

We got back to the hotel just before noon and we loaded him
up in the stroller and walked down the street and had lunch at Pizza Hut. Pizza Hut here is much different, they serve
steak and lots of other dishes. We had
the Seafood Supreme pizza and Shaun had the ham and cheese mashed
potatoes. After lunch we stopped at the
Wal Mart and picked up a few items we needed.
Then back to the hotel for a while. We have noticed that any time you are in a moving
vehicle or the stroller he tends to fall asleep quickly We needed that car ride this evening to get
him to sleep as he did not want to lay down, we both took a time rocking him
until he went to sleep.
We purchased some balls for Shaun to play with. He spent about an hour passing the balls with
us and then we went out into the hall way where he played with a little girl
from our group. He is playing better
today and his temper is a bit better. He
is very inquisitive and wants to understand how things work. You can see him
trying things and seeing what is happening.
Shaun is adjusting very well but it takes time for him to
realize this is the real deal and not just another Nannie passing through his
life. He is starting to trust us and
laughs when we play so this is all good.
This evening we decided to walk to a Chinese place down the
street that Rita told us about. I
obviously did not get the directions correct.
We ended up at a restaurant but not the one she described. We were at a place where you cook everything
in broth on the table. They had no
English menu nor any pictures. The girl
helped me order and we ended up with a bunch of food including tofu, a whole
chicken head and all, some unidentified seafood item (Very good), some type of
pork, a bunch of spices etc. The ladies
helped us as much as they could and we managed to pull off the meal. It was a ton of food and was not that
expensive,
| very interesting meal |
| Ugliest chicken I have ever seen. |
Tomorrow is the big day when we travel by train to his home
town to apply for his passport. We have
to be up early and ready to leave by 7:15.
We may get to visit his orphanage which could be confusing and upsetting
for him but in some ways will give him closure to that chapter of his
life. Pray for our trip and for Shaun as
he continues this transition into being a part of our family.
Praying for yall! So happy to hear that Shaun is doing well!
