In the final countdown

Wow hard to believe we are in the final countdown, just a few short days from leaving to meet Shaun.

Life has been so busy that time is flying by.  We are trying to prepare everything, trying to get ready for Easter at church, trying to get all my projects at work in order for me being out, dealing with Spring and taking care of the blog for a dear friend who is in China right now but will be home tomorrow.  Wow so much going on.

It has been great watching our friends trip to meet her new daughter and it has really helped to hype us up for the trip.

We are ready.  Mentally ready, physically ready, praying continually, packed, checklists checked and to be checked again and again.   Documents packed and checked and checked again and again.  So many things going on in my head that it has been hard to sleep this week.  Too much caffeine to keep me going during the day.

Flights booked, hotels booked, arrangements made, family notified, and on and on.

Am I rambling?   Well that has been life this week.  We have been so busy with so much to do with so little time.   Yet the waiting seems long in some ways.   I have to say I will feel so good when we get on that plane and the wheels come up.  Looking forward to getting back to the birth land of our daughters and new son.  Looking forward to the sights, smells, flavors of China.   Looking forward to meeting new families in our travel group and making new friends.   Looking forward to seeing a good friend that one of our girls is named after, she lives there and will be in Guangzhou at the same time as us.  We also hope to see another friend in Guangzhou while there.

Much to anticipate, yet much to ponder.  Is Shaun prepared for us?  Has he received our care packages?  Have they been talking to him about us?   Will he recognize us from pictures?  Will he bond quickly or will he struggle?  Then you get down the trivial stuff of what will the weather  be like, will it be cold, will it rain? Where will we eat?    Wow we get to be in China when it is not winter.  We get to be there to celebrate Shaun's 2nd birthday, how will we celebrate.  We have been there 3 times in December, March and January, cold all 3 times with the exception of Guangzhou.

The bigger question in the back of my mind is will we get stuck in Beijing airport again?  When we adopted Shiyan we were stuck for 7 hours due to fog, with Maria's adoption stuck for 14.5 hours and ended up taking a train due to a foot of snow.  (Lisa you are not allowed to ship anything to China until we get home, you will cause a  blizzard! you know what I am talking about!)

Well enough rambling for tonight.   I have checklists to review and documents to check again and exercise to do and sleep to try and get.

We look forward to giving you updates from the PRC.   Thanks for your prayers and for following along on our journey.
