Meeting with Surgeon

Today we met with the surgeon that will be doing Maria's next surgery. He is new at our medical center but we have heard great things about him. We were very impressed. The current plan is to delay the heart surgery and first do some repair on her lung to correct an issue that was a result of the first surgery in China. The Dr. feels that this will help her be stronger and should help with the recovery from the heart surgery.

The good news is that Maria is doing great so he is in no hurry to do the heart surgery. We have scheduled the lung surgery for June 9th. She should be in the hospital 5 to 7 days if all goes well. We then hope to have the option of doing the other surgery later this year or even waiting until next summer if we want.

We praise God for bringing this new surgeon to our hospital and trust that he is part of God's plans to take care of Maria. We will post more updates as we get closer to the surgery date and will post as often as possible while she is in the hospital.
