Well we have been home for 5 days now. We have been amazed at how Maria has done. She is saying new words every day and is becoming more comfortable. She has been so happy most of the time.
Actually as I started writing this post she started crying uncontrollably. She will not let us console her and we can not get out of her what is wrong.
For the most part she has been happy. A few days ago she did tell us in Chinese that she was sad and that she missed her friends.
We have found that she loves flash cards and is learning so many English words. It is great watching her blossom but so hard to watch her grieving and being unable to help her.
Shiyan continues to have some adjustments. She has been seeking attention in the wrong ways this week but is also improving. She has been sick but better now, however now Laura has a cold and has been laying around all day.
We appreciate your continued prayers as we all continue to adjust to the new normal.

We will absolutely continue lifting your family up in prayer as you all adjust to a 'new normal' ...I know it's hard to watch Maria grieve and not be able to consol her, but the good part is that it is BECAUSE of the amazing love and care she received before joining your family. Glad to hear she is happy most of the time though...that is such a good sign. Give yourselves time and God will help you work out the details. Maria is the perfect fit for your family and I just love seeing the photos of all of you together! Praising God for the miracle of your little girl. May her heart continue to heal as His grace brings her comfort!! <><

It is quite an adjustment for everyone. I know as each week passes Maria will feel more and more secure. I remember Kimmie used to cry and cry and not be able to tell us why. It's heart breaking and hard, but it will all be good! Praying for you all!
