Our Story

We have 3 biological sons born in 1988, 1991 and 1994. After our third son was born (About 1997) Robin started feeling that we were supposed to adopt a little girl from China. Forrest was not in favor of adopting and resisted. Finally in October 2003 God used Steven Curtis Chapman's testimony to change Forrest heart. At that point we started the adoption of Laura.

On October 16, 2004 we received the package with Laura's picture and information in it. That very same day there was another little girl born in China that we would later adopt. In December 2004 Robin and Forrest traveled to China to receive Laura. We returned home 1 week before Christmas.

In the later part of 2005 we felt we were supposed to adopt again. We started the process and in November 2006 we received a match with Shiyan. In March 2007 the entire family traveled to China to meet Shiyan.

We still felt that our family was not complete so during 2008 we prayed about adopting again but kept delaying the process. January 8th of 2009 we started the process to adopt again. On May 1st we received a call asking if we were interested in HongZi. After pray and consultation with our physicians we decided to adopt her. Her name will be Maria Hongzi. We now wait for all the paperwork to get through both governments and to receive approval to travel to China to meet her.

So with this we now have 3 sons and 3 daughters ranging in age from 4 to nearly 21 years old.

We are both very passionate about adoption and work with the orphan care ministry at our church. We are thankful for the ways God has blessed our family through adoption.
